My life is a tunnel.
At times it's dark and scary.
I don't know when it's going to end,
Sometimes it makes me wary.
At times it can be calm and still,
With lights to show me the way.
And when I reach the end,
There's a whole different display.
And if it's sunny and bright,
I know it's going to be okay.
At times I feel like stopping before I reach the end,
But the tunnel is what leads me to a long forgotten friend.
The tunnel kept me focused on the path I chose to take,
Unable to stray left or right, it kept me from mistakes.
My life is a tunnel.

Sigmund Freud, or Sigismund Schlomo Freud was a psychiatrist, and a scholar. His birth took place in Freilberg, Morvania, in the Austrian Empire on May 6th, 1856. As a child, Sigmund was a brilliant boy, and always at the head of the class. At all times, he had a keen mind, and great sense of humor. Later on, Freud developed multiple theories throughout his life.
After he received his medical degree at the University of Vienna in 1881, his premise came to life. Freud believed that dreams help preserve sleep by representing unfulfilled wishes that would otherwise awake the dreamer. He finally decided to analyze himself. His symptoms of travel phobia, severe addiction to cigars, and fainting in the presence of talented male friends became worse over months because he was entering his subconscious. 200px-Sigmund_Freud_LIFE.jpg Anything that came to mind without censorship had meaning. After months of interpreting his own dreams, and exploring the ‘Royal Road to the Unconscious’, he overcame his own resistance and lifted his defenses. Sigmund Freud was the first to analyze himself. To think all of this started when his father died at the age of 48, and Sigmund was feeling confused and pained.
Later on, just before WWII, Sigmund emigrated to England. At the time, Vienna was a very dangerous place for Jews, especially ones as eminent as Sigmund. Unfortunately, Sigmund Freud died on September 23, 1939 in London, England. He was killed by oral cancer. He was suffering from that disease for the last 20 years of his life. Sigmund Freud was an intelligent man who not only theorized, but practiced neurophsycology.
Excellent project on Freud. 4. Can you please post your extended metaphor poem here? Mr. Chester
Chinese Poetry
Empty land with the slightest breeze
Not a drop of water in sight
In this land, the sun decrees
Critters waiting for the night
All you will see is shrubs, no trees
Empty land with the slightest breeze
Is this scene hot or cool? Should it be with or without the slightest breeze? I like "the sun decrees." Mr. Chester
The Tityus scorpion, found in the Andes Mountains is highly poisonous even though its range in length is from about 1.1 - 4.7 inches. Just because some scorpions are smaller than others does not mean they can be any less venomous. This particular type of scorpion was found at an altitude of 7,200 feet. Not all scorpions live on mountains, actually, the Ecuadorean region is infested with a diversity of these creatures. Too find them is not at all difficult. Some French researchers found that using ultraviolet light (UV light) makes it simpler to locate them. Although researchers study many different parts of the world, the Andes Mountains are known for having the most diversity when it comes to creatures.
